I remember the times
when I was just a little boy;
Spending the
weekend with my grandma, and feeling lots of joy;
Doing things
together and the joy it did bring;
Sharing many
hobbies, including bird watching;
To this day I can
tell you most any bird I see;
Knowing most of
the kinds of birds from what she taught me;
I remember
evenings with TV dinners watch TV;
Looking forward
during the week the next time,
she would be with me;
Working in the
yard together and my labor she did hire;
Burning trash in the barrel, and even accidentally catching
a field on fire;
In my late teens,
out of state, I did move away;
But with my time
I did spend, in my heart she did stay;
Toward the end of
her life she stayed in a nursing home;
I went to visit weekly, no matter where I did rome;
We connected every week, and her heart I did won;
Even when she couldn’t remember who I was and introduced
me as her son;
I had cherish every moment with her up to the day;
When I got the call she had passed away.
